In this class, you'll learn to create stylish and durable coasters using the herringbone single crochet technique. This textured stitch gives a sleek, sophisticated look while maintaining the practicality of a classic coaster. Perfect for beginners and those looking to expand their crochet skills, the herringbone single crochet creates a dense, sturdy fabric that’s ideal for protecting surfaces. You’ll master the unique stitch, explore color combinations, and complete a set of beautiful, functional coasters—ideal for adding a personal touch to your home or gifting to friends and family.
Crochet classes are led by Katie Pritzl, a high school ELA teacher at Tomahawk High School. Learn to crochet with step-by-step instructions in a creative and relaxing environment. Leave class with a new work of art and a new skill to make future useful pieces for yourself, or to give away as gifts! Participants must bring their own 5mm crochet hook and skein(s) of yarn - have fun with what colors you want to bring! If you need help, please reach out to the Community Education Program Coordinator.
